This week ,on an amazingly beautiful autumn day, we saw our new Prime Minister and his Cabinet sworn into office. The cabinet makeup is receiving broad national and international approval; like today’s work place it holds a representative mix of generations, cultures and genders.

When the Prime Minister made his famous comment “Because it’s 2015” I think it may have come as a revelation to many that the world has changed and you need to change with it. Luckily Boomers are impressively represented in the Cabinet by men and women who have continued to remain effective and relevant by adapting to, and embracing, change. They are ready to work with their Gen X Leader and Millennial Colleagues; great examples of being Upcycled Selves!
You have been very kind in your comments and reception of the Upcycled Self Blog; I have appreciated your observations and comments. In response to questions I would like to share my very first video blog posting, or vlog. Please be kind in your viewing and review; even Stephen Spielberg had to start someplace!
New Skills, like video blogging, are all part of being an Upcycled Self; now I wonder if they need me for the next Star Wars sequel?

Great first video Brian!
Apparently the most diverse cabinet yet in Canada right? Great job on the post Brian!
Great post Brian! Very good idea for a post and very relevant. The 2015 comment did go viral as many people who don’t know a lot about politics only get the bits and pieces. I know you’re well versed in the political picture in Canada. We’ll see a big contrast from Harper as Trudeau is starting to be come known for the ‘one liners’ I also liked his comment to Peters Mansbridge about how the bus is how many people get to work everyday!
Hey Brian! Awesome video, very genuine. You should consider doing video blogs more often because you’re definitely a natural. Justin Trudeau’s comment “Because it’s 2015” was one of the most inspirational things I’ve heard in a while. It’s 2015 and things like gender and sexual orientation are still issues but they’re dramatically becoming obsolete. Hats off to Trudeau for bringing that to people’s attention.
Keep up the awesome work Brian!
Hey Brian,
Really enjoyed the candid nature of your post – video certainly has a high learning curve but it’s an invaluable skill to have especially given the nature of the industry right now. Looking forward to seeing what else is coming down the upcycled pipeline in the near future!
Yes, that ‘Because it’s 2015’ response will probably go down in the history of politics as one of the few honest answers any politician has ever given. I’m happy for Canada my friend, I really wish Trudeau to be everything the nation expects and deserves. Great article as always!
Great post brian!
Great video Brian, the blog has come along way since you first created it. As for the new ptime minster i’m not digging the tax hikes lol.
LOL! Nice video Brain! I really glad that Canada has a new Prime Minister because at least his new immigration policy for international students sounds much easier than right now. Cross my finger! I am going to apply work permit very soon.
